Omuma road is decaying

Thank God Governor Okezie Victor Ikpeazu conqured the menace of this COVID-19 pandemic. We are happy to see him back, hale and hearty. We celebrate his full resumption to office. May the Almighty be praise for Him alone can do this.

However, as the governor continues with his work, we the indigenous and non-indigenous residents of OMUMA ROAD Aba crave his indulgence.

The poor state of OMUMA ROAD calls for a state of emergency. The  road has been neglected, abandoned and forgotten for over 20 years and it is gradually turning to a slump and if nothing is done soon, it will turn to a total swamp. Trees and all sorts of grasses grow on the supposedly tarred road which use to be one of the major routes to Aba township in the 1980s.

This road in question links many other important roads and use to serve  as a shortcut from Ariaria area of Aba to other major part of the Enyimba city during traffic jam along Faulks road. It is an important road to the people of Asaokpuaja Aba, Ezukwu Aba, Obuda Aba, Okporjiaku Aba Autonomous communities all in Aba  South, as well as Ariaria village in Aba. However, the deplorable state of this road has cutoff these communities and village from the rest of the city.

The horrible state of OMUMA ROAD has helped mosquitoes and many other creeping creatures to breed in millions. The health implications of this is a case for another day.

The inaccessibility of this road also has made the area a hideout for criminals. The unhealthy nature of OMUMA ROAD has crippled most economic activities in the area and left the people with incredible hardship.

We have been hoping and praying that OMUMA ROAD be given a favourable consideration in this administration, but from the look of things, it seems it is not in the agenda of this present regime to come to our rescue. No comment or statement whatsoever has been made with regards to the deplorable state of this road and the tenure of this regime is fast fading away. It will be unfair and heartbreaking that after 8 years of having an Ngwa man and an inlaw to the people of Asaokpuaja Aba Autonomous community as the governor of the state, OMUMA ROAD will remain in this present condition.

Let it be known that we are part and parcel of this state. We need good and motorable road. We hope and pray that the governor turns his caterpillars to OMUMA ROAD soon.

OMUMA ROAD NEEDS ATTENTION!
