A few hours after Mirabel came forward to say she was raped by a stranger in her apartment, her neighbor spoke out to challenge her account.
He said: No one could have entered our compound to commit such an act. What’s even more surprising is that last Thursday she told us her mother had died, and she was crying. We each contributed ₦2,000 to support her because she said she didn’t have money to travel to her village. However, I later discovered on her social media page that her mother had actually passed away in July last year and was buried in August.
She also claimed that no neighbors were at home on Sunday when the alleged incident occurred. That is not true — we were at home, and nothing of that nature happened.
She further stated that she drank Sniper and was taken to the hospital. Yet we saw her leaving the compound yesterday morning, walking normally — despite claiming she had ingested Sniper and that a blade was used to cut her. A man came to pick her up.
If she was truly assaulted and poisoned, she should present a certified medical report confirming both the alleged rape and the ingestion of Sniper.
She seems to have forgotten that when she cooked for the community, everyone ate. But now that the community is questioning her, it appears overwhelming for her to handle.
Her case has now attracted the attention of prominent figures, including VDM, the Lagos State Government, human rights activists, and the police. The situation continues to generate public interest.
